Aaron Ciechanover is an Israeli biologist. In 2000 he received the Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research. Along with Avram Hershko and Irwin Rose, he was awarded the 2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation. Born in Haifa, Israel, he received his Master of Science in 1971 and his M.D. in 1974 from the Hadassah Medical School of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Wikipedia
