Adam Smith is an American politician and farmer from Kentucky. In the 2004 election, he campaigned as a Democrat for a seat in the House of Representatives representing Kentucky's second congressional district, losing to the incumbent by 68 percent of the vote to 32 percent. His campaign was widely considered to be futile; in the 2002 election, his opponent, Republican incumbent Ron Lewis, won 69 percent to 29 percent. Wikipedia
