Adel Iskandar (aka Adel Iskandar Farag) (born March 15 1977) is a Middle East media scholar, postcolonial theorist and media reform activist. He is the author and co-author of several seminal works on Arab media, most prominently the first major analysis of the Arab satellite station Al Jazeera. Born to an Egyptian family of physicians in Edinburgh, Scotland, he grew up in Kuwait, escaping the Iraqi invasion and the 1991 Persian Gulf War. Wikipedia
