Afshan Azad (born 12 February, 1988) is a British actress. She is perhaps best known for playing Padma Patil in the "Harry Potter" films. She got the part when casting agents visited her school, and after having attended several auditions, she was chosen for the part. Currently living in Manchester, she is a Muslim, and a second-generation Bangladeshi. Afshan and her co-star Shefali Chowdhury became very close after their acting in Goblet of Fire. Wikipedia
