Ahmad Khatami is one of the Iranian hardliner clerics who has strong ties with the supreme leader and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He believes in the continuance of uranium enrichment. He is also a member of the Assembly of Experts. Although his name resembles that of Mohammad Khatami, the reformist former president of Iran, the two men are not related.
