Alan Erasmus was the co-founder of Factory Records with Tony Wilson, which signed Joy Division and The Happy Mondays. He started off his career as an actor, appearing in Coronation Street and the TV film Hard Labour by Mike Leigh. He was also manager of bands The Durutti Column and Fast Breeder.
