Alec Mapa (born July 10, 1965) is an American actor and comedian. His most recent television role has been as Vern, Gabrielle's gay best friend, on the hit ABC series "Desperate Housewives". Before that, he made history as the first Asian gay regular on a sitcom as Adam Benet in the UPN comedy Half & Half. Mapa, a Filipino American, was born in San Francisco.
