Alex Briley (born Alexander Briley, 12 April 1951, in Harlem, New York) performed the "G.I." role in the disco era music group, Village People. Briley was raised in Harlem and later Mount Vernon, New York. A minister's son, he sang in church from an early age and studied voice at the University of Hartford. Briley performed with jazz flautist Bobby Humphrey and was featured in the off-Broadway shows "Music Magic" and Althol Fugard's drama "A Lesson From Aloe". Wikipedia
