Briley was raised in Harlem and later Mount Vernon, New York. A minister's son, he sang in church from an early age and studied voice at the University of Hartford. Briley performed with jazz flautist Bobby Humphrey and was featured in the off-Broadway shows "Music Magic" and Althol Fugard's drama "A Lesson From Aloe". Wikipedia
