Allan R. Chason was born in Mobile, Alabama on March 25, 1950. He obtained his undergraduate degree in 1972 and his law degree in 1976, both from the University of Alabama. He was a member of the Alabama Law Review and served on its Editorial Board from 1975 to 1976. He received various scholastic honors during law school, including the Dean M. Leigh Harrison Award, and was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Farrah Law Society.
