Amanda Jane Platell (born 12 November 1957 in Perth, Western Australia) is a journalist and the former press secretary of William Hague, who was leader of the Conservative Party from 1997 to 2001. Platell has worked at the "Daily Mirror" and she was once Labour party's director of communications, Alistair Campbell's boss at The Mirror. Later, she edited the "Sunday Express". Wikipedia
