Amasa Hewins (July 11 1795-August 18 1855) was an American portrait, genre, and landscape painter. Hewins was born in Sharon, Massachusetts to Esther (Kollock) and Amasa Hewins. He married Elizabeth Alden on August 22 1820. Thereafter he lived in Boston, and first exhibited at the Boston Athenaeum in 1830, and occasionally thereafter until 1846.
