Amitabh Bachchan (Devanagari: अमिताभ बच्चन) is a successful Bollywood actor, and one of the most prominent figures in the Indian film industry. Best known as an actor, he has also worked as a film producer and a television presenter, and was an elected member of the Indian Parliament from 1984 to 1987. Bachchan is married to actress Jaya Bachchan, is the father of actor Abhishek Bachchan, and father-in-law of actress Aishwarya Rai.
