Andrey Knyazev is a former Russian diplomat in Canada, who became notorious when, on January 27 2001, he struck and killed a Canadian woman while driving drunk. Invoking diplomatic immunity, he escaped prosecution in Canada. He was later convicted in Russia for the incident and sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment on March 19 2002.
