Antonin Poncet (March 28, 1849 - (September 16, 1913) was a French surgeon who was born in Saint-Trivier sur Moignans in the department of Ain. He earned his doctorate at the University of Lyon and later practiced surgery at the Hôtel-Dieu in Lyon. In 1883 he attained the chair of operative medicine in Lyon. With Louis Léopold Ollier, Poncet is credited for introducing the aseptic methodology of Joseph Lister to Hôtel-Dieu. Wikipedia
