Ari Eldjárn is an Icelandic film-maker and scriptwriter. Born in Reykjavík in 1981, he is the fourth son of Icelandic writer Þórarinn Eldjárn and his wife, Unnur Ólafsdóttir. His grandfather, Dr. Kristján Eldjárn, was the third president of the Icelandic Republic and had left office the year before, having served for three terms. Ari grew up in Reykjavík and England.
