Dr. Arye Carmon Dr. Arye Carmon has been the President of the Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) since its inception in 1991. Dr. Carmon founded the IDI, along with American businessman Bernard Marcus, as an independent think tank dedicated to promoting and strengthening democracy and democratic values in Israel. Dr. Carmon was born in Jerusalem and received a B.A. in History and Philosophy and an M.A. in History from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. idi.org.il
