Dr. Azriel Carlebach was a journalist and editorial writer during the period of Jewish settlement in Palestine and during the early days of the state of Israel. He was the founder and first editor of the newspaper "Maariv." Azriel Carlebach was born in the city of Leipzig, Germany, in 1909; descendant of a family of rabbis.
