William Ball Sutch (27 June 1907 - 28 September 1975) was a New Zealand writer and civil servant. He gained public recognition when he was accused of trying to pass government secrets to the Soviet Union. He was acquitted. Sutch was born in Southport, England, but his family moved to New Zealand when he was only eight months old. He grew up in the Methodist faith, which was to have a strong influence on him throughout his life. Wikipedia
