Brigham Young (June 1, 1801 - August 29, 1877) was a leader in the Latter Day Saint movement. In 1847, Young became the president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is one of many churches that claim to be a continuation of the Church of Christ founded by Joseph Smith, Jr. in 1830.
