Burrill Phillips is an American composer and educator born in Omaha, Nebraska. Phillips studied composition at the Denver College of Music and later attended Eastman to study with Howard Hanson and Bernard Rogers. After receiving both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Eastman, he remained at the school as a faculty member until 1949. Phillips also taught at the University of Illinois, Cornell University and the Julliard School of Music. Wikipedia
