Clarence Daniel Batchelor (b. April 1, 1888, Osage City, Kansas; d. September 5, 1977) was an American editorial cartoonist who was also noted for painting and sculpture. Batchelor's journalistic career began in 1911 as a staff artist for the "Kansas City Star". From 1914 to 1918 he worked as a free-lance artist, returning to newspapers in 1923 when he worked as a cartoonist in the "New York Post" for the Ledger Syndicate until 1931. Wikipedia
