Carloman (b. 849 - d. 874) was the youngest son of Charles the Bald. A monk since is childhood, was appointed Abbot of Saint Meddard, in Soissons. In 870, he left the monastery where he had retired and revolted against his father. He was captured and blinded by his unforgiving father.
