Carol Kaye (born March 24, 1935) is an American electric bass player and Los Angeles session musician who performed on hit records during the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s. Kaye worked on several Phil Spector, David Axelrod and Brian Wilson productions, was the bassist for The Zodiac, played guitar on Ritchie Valens' La Bamba and is credited with the bass tracks on several Simon and Garfunkel hits.
