Charles Inglis (1734- 24 February, 1816) was consecrated the first Church of England bishop of Diocese of Nova Scotia in 1787. Previously, Inglis had been the Loyalist rector of Trinity Church in New York. As the first Church of England bishop on the continent, his jurisdiction extended over all the British colonies in North America.
