Charles (Charlie) Richard Bean (born September 16, 1953) is Executive Director and Chief Economist at the Bank of England. Bean attended Brentwood School and Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and was a class-mate of comedian Griff Rhys Jones and writer Douglas Adams at both. He worked at Her Majesty's Treasury.
