C.J. Eliezer (Christie Jayaratnam Eliezer). born during a wedding in Sri Lanka, 1918, died during a wedding on March 10, 2001. Eliezer was a mathematician, Tamil rights activist and recipient of the Order of Australia. Son of Jaffna, chair of Mathematics in Colombo and Kuala Lampur, he retired from La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia).
