Claude Charles Castleton VC (April 12, 1893 - July 29, 1916) was an Australian recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Claud Castleton was born in Kirkey, Lowestoft. Educated at a council school he won a scholarship to the grammar school. In 1912 he set off on a long adventure, stopping first at Melbourne, Australia.
