Claudio Roditi was born on May 28th, 1946 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. By the time he was thirteen years old he was obsessed with jazz after hearing recordings of Louis Armstrong, Harry James and other American trumpeters. He later came to hear and love the music of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis. After arriving in the United States in 1970, he began to study at Berklee School of Music, where he became musically influenced by Clifford Brown and Lee Morgan. Wikipedia
