Daniel Cowan Jackling , was an American mining and metallurgical engineer who pioneered the exploitation of low-grade porphyry copper ores at Bingham Canyon, Utah. Jackling was educated in mining and metallurgy disciplines at the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri, now known as the University of Missouri–Rolla. In 1898, Jackling and Robert C.
