Darren Star (born 1961) is an American television and film producer and screenwriter best known for the hugely successful television series "Beverly Hills 90210", "Melrose Place" (both of which were co-produced with Aaron Spelling), and "Sex and the City" which was based on a book of the same name by Candace Bushnell.
