David Charbonneau is an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He is best known for his work on exoplanets. In 1999, he led a team that made the first observation of a transiting exoplanet, HD 209458 b. This in turn allowed the first measurement of an exoplanet's density. Dr. Charbonneau was born in Ottawa, Canada and attended the University of Toronto before beginning graduate studies at Harvard University. Wikipedia
