Professor Sir David Alexander Ogilvy Edward, KCMG, QC, FRSE, (b 1934) is a Scottish lawyer and academic and sat as a Judge of the Court of Justice of the European Communities between 1992 and 2004. Sir David read Classics at Oxford and Law at Edinburgh University. After National Service in the Royal Navy he was called to the Scottish Bar in 1962 and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1974. Wikipedia
