Denise Madeleine Bloch was a heroine of World War II. Bloch was from a Jewish family who were rounded up by the Gestapo by the middle of 1942 in occupied France. In the city of Lyon, Bloch was recruited to work for the Special Operations Executive (SOE). She began resistance work with SOE radio operator Brian Stonehouse until his arrest near the end of October that year. Wikipedia
