Shaykh Doku Khamatovich Umarov is the underground President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Umarov has fought for more than a decade against the Russian Federation and is reported to have hundreds under his personal command, and with steady influence in the southwestern part of Chechnya, but previously little known in other parts of the republic.
