Dowell Phillip O'Reilly (18 July 1865 - 5 November 1923) was an Australian poet, short story writer and politician. Son of an Anglican clergyman, Rev. Thomas O'Reilly, and a Mrs. Smith, he was educated at Sydney Grammar School and helped his mother run a boys school on the death of his father. For four years from 19 he held the New South Wales Legislative Assembly seat for Parramatta. He stood again in 1910 as a "Labour candidate" but lost.
