Doyle Lawson is an American bluegrass musician. He was born on April 20, 1944 in Ford Town, Sullivan County, Tennessee, near Kingsport, the son of Leonard and Minnie Lawson. Doyle Lawson is best known as an accomplished mandolin player and leader of the 5-man group Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver which he formed in April, 1979.
