Dr. Mihalkanin has served on the City Council for the past 10 years. He was elected for a one-year term in 1996, and 3 three-year terms in 1997, 2001 and 2004. His current term was scheduled to expire in November 2007. He has served as Mayor Pro Tem and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem. He represented the City Council on a variety of committees, including the Economic Development Council, the Convention and Visitors Bureau board and the Development Ordinance Review Task Force. ci.san-marcos.tx.us
