Edgar Dean Mitchell, Sc.D. (born September 17, 1930) was the sixth man to walk on the Moon. He did this with Alan Shepard as part of the Apollo 14 mission on February 9 1971. The mission was NASA's third manned Moon landing. Mitchell was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved its second highest rank, Life Scout.
