Edwin Newman (born January 25, 1919) is a journalist and writer. Newman was a longtime correspondent for NBC News. An authoritative and sometimes acerbic voice, Newman was a member of the network news team that announced to the nation the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. Newman recalled reporting on the air that the President had been administered the last rites of the Roman Catholic church by two priests at Dallas' Parkland Hospital. Wikipedia
