Edwin O'Connor (29 July 1918 - 23 March 1968) was an American journalist and novelist who won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1962 for "The Edge of Sadness" (1961). O'Connor was a radio personality, journalist, and novelist, originally from Rhode Island who spent most of his professional life in and around Boston, Massachusetts. He attended the University of Notre Dame and afterward served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Wikipedia
