Elizabeth McClintock (born 1912, died 2004 was a botanist who was born in Los Angeles and grew up in near the San Jacinto Mountain. BA and MA from UCLA, PhD in botany from University of Michigan. Specialized in taxonomy and distribution of flowering plants, and focused on California natives. She documented invasive plants in California, and compiled information on toxicity of poisonous plants cultivated in the state. Wikipedia
