Mr. Rom received his BA in Music, from the University of Washington, and his M.F.A. in Design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. His primary teacher at NYU was John Conklin whom he later assisted. He taught scenic design at Ithaca College from the fall of 1995 through the spring of 2000. In 1999 and again in 2003 he won awards for creative achievement in opera from the New Orleans Opera.
