Eric Enge : It seems to me that one of the costs to the duplicate content -- and you can tell me if I am wrong -- is that of a site's crawl budget. For example, if the Googlebot comes to a site, it may have decided to crawl a thousand pages on the site. The bot has a thousand pages in mind, and if a hundred of those are duplicate, then essentially that crawl budget is being wasted on pages that will never rank because they are duplicate. stonetemple
