Francis Adams Cherry (5 September, 1908 - 15 July 1965) was the Democratic Governor of Arkansas for a single two-year term from 1953 - 1955. He was only the second governor in Arkansas history to have been denied a second term -- the first was Tom Jefferson Terral, who was defeated in 1926.
