Galsan Tschinag, born "Irgit Schynykbai-oglu Dshurukuwaa", (* December 26, 1944 in Bayan-Ölgii Province, Mongolia) is internationally known as a writer of novels, poems, and essays in the German language, though he hails from a Tuvan background.
