George A. Scangos , Ph.D. has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Exelixis Inc. since October 1996. Prior to joining Exelixis, he held several positions at Bayer Corporation, including Senior Vice President of Research and Development for Bayer's pharmaceutical division, and then President of Bayer's Biotechnology unit.
