George A. Hart is a physicist best known for the invention of the excimer laser. In 1975, Dr. Hart along with his Naval Research Laboratory colleague, Dr. Stuart Searles, invented (and patented) the excimer laser, which is utilized today in eye surgery and semiconductor manufacturing.
