George Montagu, 6th Duke of Manchester (July 9 1799-August 18 1855), known as Viscount Mandeville from 1799 to 1843, was a British peer and Tory Member of Parliament. Manchester was the son of William Montagu, 5th Duke of Manchester. His father, who was Governor of Jamaica, had the newly founded town of Mandeville, Jamaica named after his eldest son, who, as was customary, carried the title of Viscount Mandeville before he succeeded to his father's title.
