H. James Birx (born June 1, 1941) is an American anthropologist. Birx took his M.A. in anthropology and his Ph.D. in philosophy from the State University of New York (SUNY) University at Buffalo, and is now professor of anthropology at Canisius College, as well as Distinguished research Scholar in the SUNY Geneseo's Department of Anthropology.
