Hans Mark is a professor of aerospace engineering and engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds the John J. McKetta Centennial Energy Chair in Engineering. During his tenure as Secretary of the Air Force in 1978-1981, Mark initiated the establishment of the U.S. Air Force Space Command.
